Between 1975 and the mid 1980’s the ministry and music of 7th Avenue was enjoyed by thousands of young South Africans. From their early days as New Life, then a mostly acoustic, folky group made up of young men and women based out of Pretoria, to its later incarnation as 7th Avenue, an all-male, folk-rock outfit, the group made an unforgettable impression.
A 7th Avenue concert rocked. It was fun. And for many it was a life-changing experience. In partnership with Youth for Christ, the band eased its way into the hearts of young South Africans with its energy, harmonies, irrepressible humour and groundbreaking multi-media shows, all pointing to Jesus as the life-changer.
This website is a compilation of the memories of those who participated as members, those associated in whatever way with the band and those who attended any of the concerts. We would love to hear from you.
